Back to little old me now. This is a bit low-fi and reminds me slightly of the Velvet Underground (well if they lived in Romford, had basically cuddly lives and stayed off the class As). A song about unconditional unrealistic infatuation and a story about a friends partner at the time...She had a devoted, besotted, hypnotised follower who would do pretty much anything for her almost to the point of self-debasement and with apparently very little in return. What seemed sweet at first, took on a sickly hue up close and well, I think I'll not say more. The line 'be my amplifier mine got sold for drugs' is from me, however ,as in the mid-70's I sold the bright red Marshall JMP1 that I was still paying for and squandered the proceeds on weed - knob! A song about knobs then!
